What Went Down At Ivlyn Mutua’s ’12 Beats of Christmas’ Album Launch

Taurus Events hosted the ‘12 Beats of Christmas’ album launch on the 14​th of December at the Alchemist Bar. The launch kicked off at 6 pm with tunes from the mixmaster, DJ Kay with fun-loving revelers and fans of Ivlyn Mutua ready for the highly anticipated album of the season. This debut album comes after her transition from being a gospel artist. Her powerful stage presence captured the crowd’s spirit as she performed five of her original songs; Missing You, Forever and a Day, Bado, Jibamabe and the final banger Whine Your Body as well as seven popular Christmas covers.

The patrons had the chance to dance and enjoy different genres of music from the artists who performed during the event; Alisha Popat, Bruce J Rooke, Tetu Shani, Meryl Paige, Cathy Matete, Julius Max, H_art the Band, Petra, Chris Adwar and Dafari all backed by Tha Movement. By the end of the evening, everyone was on their feet shouting for an encore.

The Alchemist Bar was the perfect set-up for this musically diverse experience that commemorated the festive season with a photo op for all who attended and a giveaway that was sponsored by Safaricom, Skiza, Songa, Radio Africa and Keexs sneakers.

Fans interacted with the USSD download code for caller ring back tones as they got immersed in the album. Drinks and food were flowing with fans singing and dancing along. Taurus Events closed the day on a high note with music from Mix Master Lenny. For those that missed the spectacular event, they have the chance to catch up with the album via digital streams on Songa as well as all major streaming platforms and Christmas specials broadcasts via Kiss TV and KUTV.
