This came in earlier today from our friends at Africa Yote and am so digging this new jam dubbed ‘Smooth Errand’ by Mia Ivy – a singer and a guitarist, currently a forth year student in Pwani University, Kilifi, Kenya.
A smooth reggea tune that is when nourished with love vibes, ‘Smooth Errand’ is a love song that tells the story of two lovers who have been kept away from each other due to various reasons, primarily work. Highlighting the challenges the two face when they are apart and all the things they look forward to doing together when they eventually meet.
Currently, playing alongside the Jambo Africa band in Mombasa, Mia Ivy debuted her singing career back in 2014, where she joined a group of artists in Kisumu known as Janeqo Krietiv Mainds. While there, they formed a band called The Creative Band and they would perform in various platforms around city.
A year later, she was approached by Clastar, the CEO and producer of Streetbreeze Records(SBRS) about a session in the studio and later released her first Afro-pop song alongside Elvizech Blackangel titled ‘Don’t Go’ and later in 2016, she collaborated with Clastar to release, ‘Chords for you’.
Last year, Mia together with Blakangel released another record, ‘Queens Vs Kings’ produced by Crazy Monkey which earned her Female Artist of The Year at the Kilifi County Peace Awards 2017 as well as her joint record ‘Feelings’ with Kisumu rapper MC Elem being released.
Enjoy her brand new record ‘Smooth Errand’ as produced by Crazy Monkey and directed by DL Films below.
