She is not only super talented on the runway but her voice has the magical vibration that will leave you wowed!, call her Wayinke- a Kenyan beauty queen singer song-writer and recording artist.
The BCom graduate from University of Nairobi is also the CEO of Afriqa Envogue Fashion house and currently running a foundation of her own-Wayinke Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization that gives back to the community by empowering youths through health, education, arts and culture.
Having taking part in various beauty pageants and scooped awards, from being named Crowed 1st Runners-up at Miss UoN in 2011, Crowned Miss Cultural Heritage Nairobi in 2014 and even being nominated as Best East African Model at 2015 ASFA Awards, fashion-wise Wayinke is accomplished.
Even though she discovered her singing talent at a tender age she has never pursued it career wise and even with her performances in bands like Afrizo in her college years it is with her new track that she has made her first step in her solo career.
Titled “Ni Yeye” (He/She’s the one) which is a love song that talks about her love for this guy whose love is the only thing that can calm her heart, she also admits in the jam that she is aware that love can’t be dangerous and she is sure it is him that her heart beats for.
As she sings lines like “Walidakia mwanzoni wenye chuki na choyo, oh…Wapinga vikali nisalie kwa zero, oh…Waliniambia yanaumiza vinoma, eh…Nikapuuzia niko wima imara naye…Naomba anipe-nipe kidogo, oh…Asiharakishe afike ukingo, oh…Anigandishe kama ulimbo, oh.”
Wayinke has embacked on an amamzing journey and I can tell for sure, we can expect bigger better things from this sassy diva in the near future…in the meantime listen to “Ni Yeye” and let us if you feel it or not.
