Eunice Wangari Thairu aka Yunis Thairu is a highly versatile and gifted Kenyan singer, songwriter, fluid dancer, actress and a music teacher. For the last twelve years, Yunis has been writing and teaching music, however, the bug of singing has never been far behind from her singing ambitions.

She realized her gift to sing and dance while schooling at Westland Primary and Mirithu Secondary Schools. As a natural, dynamic singer and dancer who trains and develops budding dancers and singers too, Yunis joined Kenyatta University to study music, however she dropped out and later joined Conservatoire of Music and Wynn Music House where she learnt on how to play the piano, guitar and voice management.

She recorded and released a single in 2012 titled “Penzi Rudi” which was produced by the Architect and this year, she released a patriotic song “Utawala”.

Kick starting her entertainment career, Yunis now strongly believes that she is ripe and ready to advance her music and singing career with encouragement from friends and acquaintances to go into singing full throttle; otherwise she will be wasting her God given talent.

Yunis has been a choir teacher for several years standing, gaining experience in choir training and organizing plays and musicals in her career.

Currently she is taking the local airwaves by storm with her brand new visuals to her debut single “Chezea Chezea” which was produced by MG Studios and directed by Webbo.

Yunis is also an entrepreneur; she is the proprietor of Imperial House of Arts School where she also teaches, coaches and mentors children in vernacular. Currently she also teaches music at School of the Nations, Peponi and the German School.
