Maisha Magic East in partnership with Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) gave hundreds of Nairobi residents a rare treat as they hosted the first ever Maisha Magic Festival on Saturday, 4th May, 2019.
The event’s main aim is to celebrate the growth of local content on television in Kenya.
The over 500 ardent followers of popular shows airing on Maisha Magic East were treated to a full day of entertainment and even got a chance to spend the day with some of their favorite actors, actresses and producers of programmes airing on the MME channel.
Speaking during the event, MultiChoice Kenya Chief Customer Officer Simon Kariithi reiterated the company’s commitment of putting customers at the heart of MultiChoice’s business adding that the festival is only the beginning.
“We as MultiChoice, remain committed to keeping to our promise of giving our viewers the best local entertainment. We highly value and treasure our customers and it is because of their loyalty that Maisha Magic East has become a very popular channel within East Africa. This festival is therefore our small way of appreciating our customers’ support as we endeavor to improve their interactions with us on both our DStv and GOtv platforms,” said Mr. Kariithi.
On her part, Maisha Magic East Head of Channel Margaret Mathore assured the fans of the unrelenting commitment by the channel to continue to serve the best local content.

Maisha Magic East has grown to become very popular across East Africa because of the support of our viewers. Some of the celebrities from the popular shows on Maisha Magic East including Selina, Varshita, Hullabaloo Estate, Nyanya Rukia, Pambio Live, The Turn Up and Our Perfect Wedding were in attendance.
The day was also packed with a lot of music and dance from artists including Khaligraph Jones, Naiboi, Mercy Masika, Bahati, Hart the Band, Elani, Bensoul, Jabidii, Moji Short Baba, DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Ruff and more.
Over the past three years, Maisha Magic East has launched premium local content to the delight of its viewers. Some of these include the award-winning show Selina that won the Best TV Drama series award at Kalasha 2018 Awards, Pete – a one-of-a-kind Swahili telenovela produced in Coastal Kenya, Maza – yet another Swahili soap opera produced in the coastal region, Varshita, Sue na Johnnie amongst others.
