Afro fusion singer Suzanna Owiyo is facing the wrath of Kenyans on Twitter for tweeting her support for Lillian Muli. This is after a video of the news anchor surfaced, where she was filmed hurling insults at a waitress at a city restaurant.
Lilian is yet to respond about the incident that has seen her trend for three consecutive days.
This is not the first time that the Kisumu 100 hit singer has had an online tiff with tweeps. During the protests by CORD to have IEBC disbanded, her stand put her at cross fires with some tweeps on the Twitterphere.
The tiff began when Suzanna tweeted, “There’s a big difference saying #BanCORDProtests behind a keyboard with the reality on the ground. Protest is legal by law and should be peaceful.”
A tweep then asked her to delete the tweet saying, “@SuzannaOwiyo Delete this tweet or you will loose your Respect madam…azin for sure you are a Kenyan artist Not a cord artist.”
To which the Wamiel singer retorted, “What respect? For speaking my mind! Address this to your preferred caliber of artists. For your info, I’m a Kenyan.”
Now, she is also at pains to explain her support for Lillian Muli.
Suzanna tweeted, “Lilian Muli has every right to be upset. None is an angel! At times you can be pushed to the wall! I wld love to hear from the waitress side.”
Adding, “Guy who took Lilian Muli’s video! What was his motive. This are characters who’ll watch from a distance & take shots of a woman being raped. (sic)”
One tweep, @GrayMarwa, tweeted Suzanna asking, “So you justify her actions? #ArrestLilianMuli.”
While another tweep, @King_Sam_254 asked, “As you’ll tweet #IStandWithLilianMuli who is standing with the waitress who was told ‘Staki kuona sura yako?’ Lilian Muli should apologize.”
Beside Suzanna, Lillian has other supporters like lawyer Donald Kipkorir who tweeted his support. He wrote, “Cyber terrorism is the biggest downside of modern age; criminals & failures hide behind cheap phones to abuse. I stand by Lilian Muli.”
