Singer Kidum Set To Bring Down The House At Go Down Arts Center On April 1st

Best known for his charming voice, multi-awards winning singer-songwriter and performing artists, Jean Pierre Nimbona popularly known Kidum is by far one of the best live performers of our time.

He is an Ambassador for Peace helping foster hope and reconciliation in East Africa. His secular but spiritual songs range from rocking zouk to acoustic classics, all featuring his vocal prowess.

Kidum, whose nick-name was given to him by his mother and literally means a 20 litre jug, admits he was a very big baby, his musical inspiration started at age 10 when he started to play the drums.

When he eventually came to Kenya as a refugee, he went off to Nairobi in search of a living and promptly joined a band as a drummer and singer; it took 4 years before Kidum Kibido eventually started writing his own songs, which was the starting point to sharing his heart and passion with the people. He has never looked back.

His songs “Mapenzi”, “Nitafanya”, “Mulika Mwizi”, “Kimbia” and “Haturudi Nyauma” have been amoungst the most successful of his songs.

The World African Music Icon and winner of the 2012 African Grammy, The Kora is set to bring down the house this weekend at the Go Down Arts Centre in Nairobi.

Set to kick off at 3:00PM the event will also feature, Serro and Coastal based songbird Nyota Ndogo.
