This September, Michael Joseph Centre will play host to a concert graced by three soulful divas: two musicians and a poet. Sage and Serro known by her hit single “Rongai” are teaming up with the punch-line Slam Africa Runners Up, Socratess.
Socratess can trace back her poetry to growing up and finding her mother’s poems strewn in various places in the house. At 11, she began to work on verses of her own to express what she was feeling.
You can see some very personal experiences so eloquently described in her poetry, which she hopes will alter perspectives in the woman’s place in society and in every sphere of life.
A multi-instrumentalist, Serro is becoming a sought-after artist that has graced many festivals in the last couple of years, finally, Sage Chemutai’s deep and alluring voice, which you might know from her first single “So Alive” featuring Octopizzo, will be the third act to watch at Kipekee.
Sage began singing in church at 5, and has grown as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Her sound is aptly described as being a soulful fusion of everything musical, and she doesn’t shy away from showing real emotions through her songs.
All the acts have a soulful presence and their content does not shy away from showing emotions ranging between heart-breaks and sunny skies.
Kipekee is a regular music and poetry concert celebrating outstanding artistes and artists with a body of authentic, original work. It aims to set itself apart as a premier stage for carefully selected acts ensuring rich and unique entertainment experiences.
