Online music publisher and distributor of African music, Mdundo, has partnered with ONGEA! 2018 to award the most downloaded Kenyan music of 2017. The award ceremony will take place at the Eastern African music summit in Nairobi, on Saturday 17th February 2018 at the Sarit Centre from 5PM – 7PM.

The winners are selected based on the number of downloads on the Kenya-based platform. Shyqo Koinange, Head of Music at Mdundo explains: “The philosophy behind our awards is to acknowledge musicians based on the real consumption of their music, instead of a panel or a voting process, which is often the practice.
