Tuma versus Asali is a collaborative effort between Asali, an accomplished singer, poet, songwriter and performer, and Tuma, a well seasoned audio engineer and music producer.
Asali has staged numerous shows at a number of international music festivals and poetry/spoken word events, including the UMOJA Music Festival in Mozambique, the HIFA Music Festival in Zimbabwe, the FROWG Music Festival in Denmark, and the Worldwide Words Fest in Denmark. She is also a stage and screen actress, and was in the cast of “Mo Faya”, a Kenyan musical play written by Eric Wainaina.
Tuma, who has had a number of his productions grace the Billboard Charts over the years, such as Veronica’s “Just A Game”, Graziella’s “Alive” and Destination X’s “Little Secret”.
Unveiling their latest single titled “Baby Moto”, a mash up of the famous traditional Luyha sounds of Isikuti with Trance to ignite the African night. “Baby Moto” exudes the celebration of African dance, the music of love set to the warming heartbeat of the Lipala padded on a bed of EDM synths.
